Our story
Every stitch has a story
Vastra began with a simple frustration: beautiful Indian craft, sold either as overpriced couture or fast-fashion knock-offs. We wanted the middle — real craft, honest prices, clothes that hold up. Seven years later, that's still the whole idea.
What we believe
Three things we won't compromise on
01
Crafted in India
We work with hand-block printers in Jaipur, weavers in Kanchipuram and small ateliers across Bangalore. Every piece is made in batches — never mass-produced.
02
Made for real life
Clothes should survive a commute, a chai break and a good laugh without complaint. We test every fabric for wear, wash and wrinkle before it earns a place in the edit.
03
Honest prices
No inflated MRPs, no fake discounts. We keep margins fair and pass the rest to you — which is why our sale prices are just… our real prices.
The timeline
From a market stall to your wardrobe
2019
Vastra starts as a small stall at a weekend market in Indiranagar, selling hand-block scarves.
2021
Our first 50-piece collection of the Ashtine dress sells out in a weekend. We move to an atelier with two tailors.
2023
We partner with weavers in Kanchipuram for a saree line, and open orders over WhatsApp — no website, just chat.
2026
The full collection goes online. Same craft, same honesty — now it ships to your door.
